Kensington and Chelsea district School (Beechholme) Boer War Panels Ver3
Recovery and restoration of the panels

In June 2009 Bill Scot from Ewell contacted the Banstead History Research Group and asked if we would be interested in two old panels found in his neighbour's garage. They were in a bit of a state but they were clearly panels once removed from the Church at Beechholme, and appeared to list ex Beechholme residents involved in the The Second Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902.

The Anglo Boer War was fought by British and Empire troops against the Boers, comprised of the combined forces of the South African Republic and the Republic of the Orange Free State.  The Boer Republics declared war on 11th October 1899 and the conflict ended on 31st May 1902.

The discovery of the panels triggered a long resoration process and the research of the men listed.

This section documents that research.

Should you have any information on any of the men listed, we would be delighted to hear from you here.
